سَنُرِيهِم

سَ+ نُرِي + هِم

سَ is a particle peculiarly prefixed to the مضارع  aorist rendering it clearly denotative of the future.

It also denotes continuance, permanence/ recurrence of some happening in future. It reflects that thing shall keep happening time and again in the future. Knowledge and facts mentioned in the Book will keep coming into our sight.

نُرِي

First person, plural, masculine. Root ر أ ى

It signifies seeing with the eye, arouse attention, consideration. It also signifies mental perception, conception, notion, idea. It is in any case related to physical senses. When it has two complements it necessarily means knowing, have knowledge.

plural, single ءَايَةً

"it properly signifies any apparent thing inseparable from a thing not equally apparent, so that when one  perceives the former, he knows that he perceives the other, which he cannot perceive by itself, when the two things are of one predicament; and this is apparent in the object of sense and in that of the intellect" (Er-Raghib) {Quote from Lane}

A sign, token, mark, by which a person or thing is known.

It is a matter of common knowledge that we perceive and store things in the memory only by comparison. ءَايَةً signifies only apparent thing which has dimensions. And information about a thing can be stored in the memory only when we know its code, i.e. its اسم name and we know its dimensions through focusing our eyes, i.e. بصر .

A piece of information/data/ knowledge. A message, or communication

هِم

ضمير مفعول

Pronoun objective complement, plural. Those mentioned in 41:52, who refuse to  accept Quran as a revelation from  Allah.

: Perception and meanings; it is NOT Spider's Web.

Quran e Majeed had informed mankind, 1400 years back, as follows:

"We will keep making it visible to the eyes of those who do not accept Quran, the signs/knowledge in the Universe and in their own bodies till it becomes evident for them that this Quran is a statement of proven fact" {Refer 41:53}

                The Grand Quran has informed that Allah will keep revealing, the knowledge about the universe and human body, and it will become manifest to the people that the Quran is a statement of proven fact. Why would it become manifest that the Quran is a statement of proven fact when man sees/perceives new knowledge about universe and human body? If the things mentioned in a book written earlier in time and space are subsequently found a scientific fact only then it is evident to people that the Book is really a statement of proven facts and not conjectural and presumptive.

             Grand Quran has given an example to elaborate the psyche/conduct of certain people:

"The example of those people who have adopted/perceived as protectors/god fathers other than Allah is like a peculiar female spider who adopted a house.

And indeed the flimsiest house is that adopted house of the female spider

if they know/have the information" {Refer 29:41}

 The traditional manner of its translation and explanation has all along been like this:

YUSUF ALI: The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house;- if they but knew.{[3466 The Spider's house is one of the wonderful signs of Allah's creation. It is made up fine silk threads spun out of silk glands in the spider's body. There are many kinds of spiders and many kinds of spider houses. Two main types of houses may be mentioned. There is the tubular nest or web, a silk-lined house or burrow with one or two trap-doors. This may be called his residential or family mansion. Then there is what is called spider's web.....The female spider is much bigger than the male, and in Arabic the generic gender 'Ankaboot is feminine" ][Reference Computer CD "Alim" ISl Software Corp. U.S.A]
PICKTHAL: The likeness of those who choose other patrons than Allah is as the likeness of the spider when she taketh unto herself a house, and lo! the frailest of all houses is the spider's house, if they but knew.
SHAKIR: The parable of those who take guardians besides Allah is as the parable of the spider that makes for itself a house; and most surely the frailest of the houses is the spider's house did they but know.   Rashad Khalifa: The allegory of those who accept other masters beside GOD is that of the spider and her home; the flimsiest of all homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.                                                     Muhammad Sarwar: The belief of considering other things as one's guardians besides God is as feeble as a spider's web. The spider's web is the frailest of all dwellings, if only they knew it.

Lane's Lexicon also translated it as "Spider's Web"

"The likeness of those who choose besides God [other] patrons, namely, idols, from whom they hope to profit, is as the likeness of the spider that makes a home, for itself in which to shelter. And truly the frailest, the weakest, of homes is the home of the spider, for it neither protects it from heat nor cold - likewise, idols cannot benefit those who worship them - if they only know, this, they would not worship them"

ابن كثير  تفسير

هذا مثل ضربه الله تعالى للمشركين في اتخاذهم آلهة من دون الله يرجون نصرهم ورزقهم، ويتمسكون بهم في الشدائد، فهم في ذلك كبيت العنكبوت في ضعفه ووهنه، فليس في أيدي هؤلاء من آلهتهم، إلا كمن يتمسك ببيت العنكبوت،

           After translating the words كَمَثَلِ ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ٱتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتاً to mean that spider builds/makes a house it is explained in the exegeses in Urdu and English that the spider's web is the weakest of the houses. But the fact of the matter is that there is not a single word which could make us infer that Quran has referred to "Spider's web". Quran has not even said that spider makes or builds a house. It has said that ٱتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتا "she acquired/seized/took/adopted a house". اِتَّخَذَتْ is past, feminine, singular; its Root is "أ خ ذ" which signifies to take, receive, get, seize, capture, acquire, adopt. This has been used in relation to  ٱتَّخَذُواْ which is also past, masculine, plural from the same Root which has correctly been translated as "take, choose, accept".

             Web of the Spider is not a house but it is a trap. A trap is built, constructed, structured, made. One could infer "Spider's web" if the words used were "بيَّت البيت""constructed a house". Male and female spider do not live together as a family therefore there can't be a question of family mansion. Male and Female construct/build traps individually and separately. Male and female belonging to even the same specie do not come closer when overpowered by the desire of mating. They first introduce and recognize each other before coming closer for love and sex.

              It could be misleading for many to read in the exegeses ascribing it the Grand Quran that "Spider's Web is the weakest of the houses" while the Quran is not said this. It is now known to the majority of the people that Spider's Web is not week and its thread is one of the finest things. Learned Harun Yahya has compiled the information with beautiful pictures about spiders in his Book "The Miracle in the Spider" but the mention of that Ayah of Quran slipped attention where it has been mentioned. About Spider's Web this information has been given in the book: {Quote}

"Spider's thread is five times stronger than the steel of same thickness, and can stretch to four times its own length". To put it in technical terms, spider's thread, from the point of its resistance to breaking and the extent it can stretch before breaking, is a material the like of which does not exist" {Unquote}

               Whichever encyclopedia we may open we will find that Spider's web is a strong and fine thing with top of the line thread. In the presence of this information/data if we accept what was stated by earlier/modern writers we will attribute to Grand Quran something which is contrary to the fact. But this is certainly not the statement of Quran. Quran's statement is that which its own words describe not that what some people perceived on the basis of their own understanding based on incomplete or poor information.

                The basic purpose of a book is to preserve knowledge for the posterity of humanity. And if the knowledge/data/fact/information preserved in a book is for the entire humanity then it becomes all the more important that this book should be easy for comprehension since the level of intellect of human beings varies. One method to make things easier for perception is to explain a thing with an example. An example {مَثَلُ} is something that is representative by virtue of having typical features of the thing it represents. It is an illustration that supports or provides more information on an opinion, theory, or principle. An example is one that is visible/perceivable by senses. In the Ayah Metaphor has not been used which is vividly different and distinct from the word example {مَثَلُ}. Metaphorical explanation is not easy to comprehend for men of lowly intellect but example {مَثَلُ} is conveniently understood by men of even ordinary prudence. The Quran has been made easy:

"Allah does not feel shy/embarrassed/constrained in giving example of a female mosquito or still a smaller than her" {Refer 02:26}

Allah has made it clear that for easy understanding and comprehension by the people the Quran has been adorned with examples. In explaining a thing with an example the importance is not that of thing quoted being small or large or male or female. The importance is that the example given must represent the thing equal on fours/exactly identical. What is the advantage of giving examples?

"And Allah gives examples for people so that they may remember {the point explained}" {Refer 14:25}

 يَتَذَكَّرُونَ  Its Root is "ذ  ك  ر". The basic concept infolded is "to remember, preserve in the memory, recollect it or call it to heart". Even in ordinary manner we can preserve things/data/ information in the memory only after comparing it with some other thing. Things are stored into the memory only by comparison. Allah has informed:

"And of everything We have created pairs/specie so that you people may remember/preserve {acquire knowledge"}{Refer 51:49}

Had things not created in Paris were it possible to acquire knowledge? Knowledge is something that is capable of preservation in memory. Man would have been meaningless creature had there been no woman; earth was meaningless without sky and so on. It is the Pair that makes us knowledgeable and intelligent. Let us express our thanks to Allah.  Beauty is in the pair. And when a thing/point is explained by an example it becomes not only easy for comprehension/perception but is also stored with a correct perspective/comparison in the memory and it is preserved distinctly for longer period of time.

                  Allah has given the example of those people who have adopted/considered/perceived as أَوْلِيَآءَ protectors, benefactors other than Allah with the habit/act of a peculiar female spider who has adopted a house and then informed about that house being the weakest one; and exclaimed that had they some information/knowledge about it. Let us find the house adopted:

The females of many species place the egg sac on a stalk, wraps leaves about it, attach it to a stone, or cover it with smooth silk before abandoning it. Other females guard the egg sac or carry it either in their jaws or attached to the spinnerets. If a female loses an egg sac, she makes searching movements and may pick up a pebble or a piece of paper and attach it to the spinnerets. (With thanks from Encyclopaedia Britannica-Spider}

A man who acquires, adopts and considers other deities and people as أَوْلِيَآءَ is actually in pursuit of finding some support with the intention of getting some strength/position and protection of interests. He escapes the reality to find refuge in conjecture, fascination, imagination and adopts them who  soothes him with idea of their being a visible protector.  After having known the house adopted by a female spider let us again read the Ayah to appreciate and reflect on the precision of the example explaining the psyche of certain people.

"The example of those people who have adopted/perceived as protectors/god fathers other than Allah is like a peculiar female spider who adopted a house.

And indeed the flimsiest house is that adopted house of the female spider if they know/have the information" {Refer 29:41}

The female spider despite knowing that the piece of paper does not contain her eggs, she takes it to her "chest". And there has never been dearth of people who keep such papers/traditions/sayings void of any substance/ knowledge and proof closely  to their chests and are seldom prepared to have a look on that "paper" to evaluate/weigh it if there existed anything of substance wrapped in it.

"And when it is said to them follow/conduct according to what has been sent by Allah {Book, Quran} they reply, "Well, no, we will follow/conduct upon which we found our fathers/past generation"

{they would follow them!!} Even if their fathers/earlier generations did not ponder/reflect on something and did not get guidance" {Refer 02:170}

"And when it is said to them "come to what has been sent by Allah {Book, Quran} and the messenger {who is reciting Quran for them}

they reply, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers/past generation"

{they would follow them!!} Even if their fathers/earlier generations did not have knowledge/information about something and did not get guidance" {Refer 5:104}

We have seen that certain people were asked to listen to the words of the Book and conduct accordingly but their immediate and plain response is that they were comfortable with what they had found their earlier generations/fathers saying/believing and doing. They don't seem interested in the words of book what to say of rebutting it with some argument. There attention is drawn towards two things without condemning their forefathers that would they keep following them with regard to something upon which their forefathers had not  لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْئاً reflected/pondered and/or they did not have لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئاً information/knowledge about something.

                   Knowledge is only of  ءَايَةً , corporeal, real thing having dimensions; and the words of Allah sent in Quran are also called  ءَايَةً since it is said by Him Who knows visible and invisible of everything. Therefore when something is said by All Knower, that is as visible as anything else to the perception of human beings. Anything beyond  ءَايَةً is nothing but conjecture, تخيل, imagination, false, farse. Compressing/preserving/captivating data/information about things is called "عقل" and the process by which we keep comparing/sorting things and finding the difference and relationships is called "تعقل, يعقل" i.e. to reflect/ponder/process the acquired data/information/knowledge to arrive at conclusions/guidance. After giving the example of habit of female spider it has been told:

"And these are the examples which we give/quote for benefit of people. But no one can reflect/ponder/analyze except those who have the information/data/knowledge" {Refer 29:43}

It is a matter of common sense that a man can reflect/ponder/process/analyze only after he has acquired data/information about something. Allah has quite unambiguously informed that knowledge about the universe and human body will progressively reveal to humanity since acquiring of knowledge needs constant and persistent pursuit of things to find mutual relationships. Therefore to keep stuck and following the traditions/saying of the past generations is a behavior/attitude of the sheep and cattle. About the attitude of aforesaid people it is categorically announced:

And the example of those who have refused to come to the Book is like the goat-herd whose listening is wordless shouts and cries

they are deaf, dumb, blind therefore they do not reflect/ponder" {Refer 02:171}

The shackles coming from our earlier generations in the shape of traditions and sayings can be removed to revive ourselves to true wisdom and knowledge is to keep ourselves bound with the words of the Quran since it is the statement of proven facts and other things are not void of doubt, conjecture, hearsay and speculative thinking of many of our earlier forefathers.

This Quran e Karim has been sent by the Lord of Worlds. Do you take this Hadith {Statement/saying/Quran} non seriously/low estimation? {Refer 56:80-81}

"Undoubtedly, this Quran is the statement of proven truth, absolutely convincing" {Refer 56:95}

"And it is absolutely certain that Quran is the statement of proven truth, absolutely convincing" {Refer 69:51}
