Grand Quran in the twenty first century

 

Creation of time and calendar of our universe.

 

              Allah has informed that our universe comprising seven skies and earth was created from nothingness.

"Say, "Should I consider/adopt someone/thing as protector/guardian/guide other than Allah, the Creator/Originator of Skies and Earth from nothingness?" {Refer 6:14}

"Certainly I have set my face for the One Who created/originated from nothingness the skies and the Earth, like ever upright person" {Refer 6:79}

"Creator/Originator of Skies and Earth from nothingness" {Refer 12:101}

"Their Messengers asked them, "Can there be a doubt about Allah, the Creator/Originator of Skies and Earth from nothingness?" {Refer 14:10}

"He said, "Yes {I have come with the truth}, the fact is that your Sustainer Lord is the Sustainer Lord of skies and Earth Who is the One Who created/originated them from nothingness"           {Refer 21:56}

"All praise/glory is for Allah, The Creator/Originator of skies and the Earth from nothingness" {Refer 35:01}

Say/call, "O Allah! The Creator/Originator of skies and the Earth from nothingness, The Knower of Invisible/Hidden/Past and future and the Evident/present" {Refer 39:46}

"Creator/Originator of Skies and Earth from nothingness" {Refer 42:11}

 فاطر  means the One Who creates a thing for the first time. He is the Originator. He creates a thing from nothingness. He is the One Who creates a relationship/rules/laws between created things. The things are created in a determined measure to strike equation and relativity and harmony amongst the created things to develop a system to operate and run for a determined distance of time.

"The Originator of the skies and the Earth" {Refer 2:117; 6:101}

             Allah created the skies and the Earth from nothingness. But it does not mean that from "nothingness" or in the parlance of the advocates of Bing Bang Theory from "zero volume" the universe came into being with a cosmic explosion called Bing Bang and started expanding and "cooling" in accordance with certain physical principals/laws. And the point of time of occurrence of the so called Bing Bang, was termed as "Zero Time". Learned Stephen Hawking, perhaps a non believer in the existence of a Creator/ Originator, has opined that before the "Real Time" there was a short span of time referred to as "Imaginary Time".

               Allah has informed that the creation of skies and earth took six days and the word "days" reflects measure of time. Therefore, it cannot be presumed that before the "Zero Time/Real Time" and before Stephen Hawking's short span of "Imaginary Time", there was a state of timelessness. State of timelessness could be perceived if we restrict the entire creation into the boundaries of our universe, i.e. seven skies and the earth, "this is the sum total that exists"; and refuse existence of anything beyond the borders of our universe. It has conspicuously been elaborated that the Sovereignty and Domain of Allah extends far behind the universe created and subjugated for human beings.

"His Sovereignty/Kingdom/Rule/Authority is unbounded far beyond skies and the Earth. And taking care/guarding of both of them is not difficult/weary/fatigue" {Refer 2:255}

وَسِعَ : Root: "و  س  ع": Basically signify capacity or dimensions; anything which is within the means, capacity, ability, tolerance of a man; ample and abundant, spacious, amplified, large, plentiful, free from strait ness, expanded, dilated, spread.

"Allah does not impose/burden/responsibility/demand/duty upon a person except according to her capacity/scope/ capability/strength/practicability/access/approach/tolerance"


But notwithstanding the vastness, capacious, extent, abundance it is restricted to limits and boundary. Therefore "وُسعَ" does not denote or reflect unlimited or infinite vastness and amplification; it is always relative. It is within measure and bounds. The meanings are evident:

"and providing of gift to them upon the wealthy/rich/abundant resources is according to his measure and upon the poor/little/restricted resources according to his measure/means" {Refer 2:236}

Anything which is in measure/volume/space it is called limited to a certain extent. It is always measurable/capable of calculation and weighing. But when for Allah the word وَسِعَ and is used it does not know limits and reflects what is beyond the limits of the specified thing; it does not reflect that the capacity, domain, power, abundance, vastness is restricted to some limits; it denotes and refers to the infinite nature not bound by demarcations and boundaries, volume, capacity, space, area. Our Universe has boundaries and anything which has boundaries is limited in nature and scope and anything which is in measure becomes subjugated and controlled.

"Certainly for those people who refuse to accept Our Ayat {statement/injunctions of the Book} and turn away from them arrogantly, the gates/doors of the Sky shall not be opened;

and their entrance into Paradise is as impossible as the rope of the ship {or camel} can not pass through the needle's eye. And this is how do We punish the criminals/guilty" {Refer 7:40}

"{Last Day} And the Sky shall be opened and there will be doors/gates {for exit}" {Refer 78:19}

Doors/Gates are always meant for entry into or for exit from a place/space/location.

"O You the assembly of Jinn and Human being! If you could acquire the capability/know how to get out of the frontiers/boundaries/limits of skies and the Earth; then you may go out.

But you cannot get out of the boundaries of skies and Earth nor would you be able in future except along with a "Sultan" {who has been given the right of helping you to get out}" {Refer 55:33}

If we start moving in one direction to get out of the boundary of the Earth we come back to the point from where we started the mission. And we will never be able to cross or even touch the upper limit of the skies since the upper sky is always expanding. The moment we reach there the outer limit would have gone farther.

"Do they not consider/reflect that certainly Allah Who is the One Who created skies and the Earth is Dominant/Able to create more universes resembling them?" {Refer 17:99}

"Is not the One Who created the skies and Earth Dominant/Able/Capable of creating more similar of them? Yes, Certainly He has the Power/Dominance for similar creation; And He is the All Wise/Knowledgeable Creator" {Refer 36:81}

In view of what has been explained, the meanings of are not that the Sovereignty/Kingdom/Authority is expanding/limited over skies and the Earth but it means that His authority and control knows no bounds and limits; and is infinite in all respects. And this confirms that it is not our universe {عالم} alone comprising of seven skies and the Earth which is all that exists. Much more beyond our universe and perception was, and is, in existence at the time of its creation. He is the Sustainer Lord of universes {رب العالمين}. "Space" also existed since for matter, solid, gas and liquid we need space to place and locate it. A new universe was being created where, in addition to matter, life was also to be created. Matter has three dimensions. But Life needs a fourth dimension, Time. The vivid delineation between matter and life is the perception of time. And the perception of time is possible only when there is non existence of absolute rest in the universe/surroundings. For bringing an order and harmony in space and time every particle or object needs to be placed at a particular point in space or so called world line before the "Zero Time" of the newly formed universe. Allah set every particle and object in an appropriate place and then comes the "Zero Time" of proposed universe when "سمك" of the Sky is raised/lifted with force/might to distance/move it away from the Earth like a canopy, umbrella. The equation was set in a manner that from start at "Zero Time" it should begin with day. It is disclosed:

"He raised  "سمك" of the Sky and proportioned her. And made dark her night and brought out her shining/hot day. And the Earth, after that hot/shining day, He spread/stretched/unfolded her. He took out water from her, water earlier placed in her and her pasture" {Refer 79:28-31}

"Certainly the count/number of months from Allah is twelve months in the Book of Allah from the Day He created the skies and the Earth.

Out of those twelve months four months are sacred. This is the settled/permanent rule/way/discipline" {Refer 9:36}

When the time of the universe started it has been called "day" which may help find where an object {sun, moon and earth} was located in terms of Space-Time Continuum {four-dimensional description of  length, width, and height and time} immediately before the spin/Zero Time of our Universe. The calendar is of twelve months and four of them, from the beginning, declared as sacred and we know that the sacred months are with reference to lunar year. The Calendar from the beginning of Universe, in essence made for the test of human beings, is Islamic in accordance with the chosen "Deen" i.e. Islam. Grand Quran has mentioned twelve months of the year but has not referred to the number of days in a year. The consistency is of twelve months but the number of days in the year could vary in time and space. The information my be useful for Planetary Scientists who are in the pursuit of knowing the Earth-Moon dynamics. After the second day's sunlight the Earth got spread and with this the water stored therein was taken out which occupied the major portion of the Earth.

              Grand Quran states that the time of coming into being of our universe was the day time. And after day the night comes. Throughout the Grand Quran the "entering" of night in the day has been mentioned first and then "entering" of day in the night is stated:

"You gradually enter the Night in the Day and you enter the Day in the Night" {Refer 3:27}

"That is because Allah  gradually enters the Night in the Day and enters the Day in the Night" {Refer 22:61}

"Do you not see that Allah gradually enters the Night in the Day and enters the Day in the Night" {Refer 31:29}

"Allah  gradually enters the Night in the Day and enters the Day in the Night" {Refer 35:13}

"Allah  gradually enters the Night in the Day and enters the Day in the Night" {Refer 57:06}

"He draws the Night veiling the Day, night desirous of seeking him in succession" {Refer 7:54}

"He draws the Night veiling the Day" {Refer 13:03}

"And by the Night when it has covered/veiled {the day}" {Refer 92:01}

"Allah alternates/revolves the night and the day" {Refer 24:44}

يُولِجُ-تُولِجُ: Root: و  ل  ج :Entering of a thing into another thing; a bend or a place of bending, in a valley; anything that is introduced or entered into a thing and thus is also used for a particular or special, intimate friend or associate. The use of this word seems to have significance with the system of orbiting of Sun, Moon and Earth resulting in alteration of night and day.

"Certainly in the creation of the skies and the Earth and in the alteration of the Night and the Day"

{Refer 2:164}

are the signs {knowledge/information/data} for the people to process/reflect/ponder/analyze"

"Certainly in the creation of the skies and the Earth and in the alteration of the Night and the Day are the signs {knowledge/information/data} for men of wisdom who reflect not merely to know the apparent relationship/equation but to know the ultimate purpose/objective of things" {Refer 3:190}

"Certainly in the alteration of the Night and the Day and what Allah has created in the skies and the Earth  are the signs {knowledge/information/data} for the people to be watchful" {Refer 10:06}

"And He is the One Who gives life and death and is for Him the alteration of the Night and the Day. Would you then not reflect/consider/ponder?" {Refer 23:80}

"And He is the One Who has made/designed/devised the Night and the Day in alteration/successive manner for the one who wills/desires to consider/remember/heed/mindful or who desires expressing thanks/gratitude/appreciation" {Refer 25:62}

"And Allah determines/decides the measure {length of time} of the Night and the Day"{Refer 73:20}


And the Last Messenger  was advised to invite the attention of the people to certain possibilities:

"Say: Have you thought/considered that If Allah were to make over you the night perpetual  to the Day of Judgment, what lord is there other than Allah, who could bring for you {Sun/Day} with radiation and visible light? {Consider this and} Will you still not listen?

"Say: Have you thought/considered that If Allah were to make over you the day perpetual  to the Day of Judgment, what lord is there other than Allah, who could bring for you night in which you could take rest? {Consider this and} Will you still not see/focus {and remain plunged in darkness}?" {Refer 28:71-72}

People are asked to ponder/consider the possibility of a little change in the equations of Sun, Moon and Earth which may result in the permanence of night resulting in the non availability of sun's radiation/heat and visible light {نُوراً, the source of life/photosynthesis}. One source/means of acquiring knowledge is the faculty of listening. In the absence of light the faculty of vision is obscured. It is asked would you not even listen? And the other possibility is changing the equations in a manner that the day becomes the permanent feature. The day is shiny, spreading visible light everywhere. It is asked would you not concentrate/focus your eyes to have vision? But people tend to remain in the darkness despite the visible light everywhere.

"And a sign for them is the Night. We draw/strip from it the day, but despite that day light they are in darkness {they don't see/focus/reflect}" {Refer 36:37}

The matter and objects cannot change the equations which have been set by the Creator, Allah.

"It is not befitting for the Sun that she should follow {the path, footsteps} of the Moon, and nor the Night is the one who could take lead/be ahead of the Day" {Refer 36:40}

He makes the Night overlap/wound upon the Day and makes the Day overlap/wound upon the Night {Refer 39:05}

:Root:ك  و  ر : Winding round the turban; to wound the thing in a round form; wrapped up.

Man seems to be more interested in finding the beginning of Time but Allah, the Last Messenger and the Last Book, Grand Quran is emphasizing upon us to pay more heed and care to the Winding of the Time. What we perceive and think today as end of the Time will in fact be the beginning of Time. Before we had gone digital, we had spring watches. When the spring was fully stretched we thought that was the end of the time on that watch since then time came to a halt/stop. We used to wind it to begin the time on that watch. Winding in fact takes to the beginning; the true and eternal life. Let us listen and answer in affirmative:

"O You who say have believed, answer/respond to Allah and answer/respond to the Messenger when he calls you towards what will give you people Life.

And you people may know that Allah is the One who transmits/and (or) creates a barrier in between the brain and his heart" {Refer 08:24}

And let us keep listening to the Grand Quran to also have the information about the process of creation of our universe and the beginning of the Time:

"And by the Sun and her splendorous light. And by the Moon when he followed her {Sun}. And by the Day when he had brighten her {Sun}. And by the Night when he veils her. And by the Sky and by that which raised her as canopy. Any by Earth and by what spread her" {Refer 91:01-06}

These verses are not only reflecting information about what happened and its sequence but also the importance and unique position/status of the Sun in the solar system. The strong gravitational pull of the Sun holds Earth and the other planets in the solar system in orbit. The Sun’s light and heat influence all of the objects in the solar system and allow life to exist on Earth. Sun is described as feminine and Moon as masculine in Arabic. The Moon has been described as the one who does not emit light but only reflects light and the Sun radiates energy and visible light which makes it shining.

"Do you people not see how Allah has created seven skies in harmony/adjoining one above another.  And made/appointed a Moon in all of them and made the Sun shining, source of radiation/light" {Refer 71:15-16}

              I am not a scientist or a physicist. Neither me is a scholar or a man of wisdom. I am a student of an ordinary prudence. This work is more in the nature of a job of superior clerk who gathers the papers, files, data and information and places it before the superiors/men of intelligence and wisdom for their consideration, study and analysis to infer and draw equations and conclusions. Therefore the Reader is requested to focus on the Words of Grand Quran to conceive the perception conveyed by them and in the light of this perception evaluate the present day knowledge which is a combination of data/facts coupled with scum/conjectures/presumptions/theory.
